Cancelled TV Shows Due for a Reboot

Cancelled TV Shows Due for a Reboot

Freaks and Geeks

Cancelled almost 20 years ago, Freaks and Geeks became a cult classic. This show started the careers of James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Linda Cardellini and more. Freaks and Geeks ran for only one season and left fans with plenty of questions. While some time has passed, a reboot is certainly due. Fans would love to see how these characters grew up and turned out.

Friends

This 90’s sitcom was considered one of the top grossing sitcoms of all time and the smash hit ran for 10 seasons. All the cast members are still active in acting, so a reboot doesn’t seem so farfetched. The spin off series ‘Joey’ failed to gain traction. However, with a recent surge of popularity in younger fans a Friends reboot would be a huge hit.

The Office

While it ran for a great nine seasons and just ended five years ago, fans of The Office are very passionate, and a reboot would obviously be successful. For many fans of The Office, nine seasons was not nearly enough time. It's considered one of the most re-watched shows on Netflix. A reboot would make so many people happy and give fans a little something more.

Jon Benjamin Has a Van

This show ran for only one season in 2011 and it was cancelled pretty hastily. Many people did not understand the premise or who Jon Benjamin was. However, seven years later, Jon Benjamin is a huge star and now the voice of Archer and Bob on Bob’s Burgers. This show has a cult following and many critics believe it would be due for a reboot.

My Name Is Earl

One of the most popular comedies of all time, My Name Is Earl ended on a huge cliffhanger that left viewers disappointed. Fans of this classic comedy would love to know what happened to the characters and maybe this time around we could give the show a proper ending. The producers did say they had a great idea for an ending, but sadly we never got to see it.

Joan of Arcadia

As this show was picking up steam and gaining critical acclaim, it was suddenly cancelled in the second season which not only stunned fans but critics as well. There still isn’t a solid reason on why this show was cancelled, so a reboot could prove to be popular, and maybe we could end the suspense of that cliffhanger.

Party Down

This short-lived comedy starring Adam Scott from Parks and Recreation was considered by critics to be one of the funniest TV shows of all time. The show did not end due to a controversy, but rather Adam Scott being cast in Parks and Recreation. Now that the star is a big name, rebooting this show could give it another chance as it never gained traction.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air

Lately many popular 90’s sitcoms like Full House have gone through reboots. Fans are asking if there will be a Fresh Prince reboot. While the actor who played Uncle Phil has sadly departed, the other actors of the show might be up for it. A ‘Fuller House’ style reboot might fit the Fresh Prince perfectly. After all, it's still popular with younger fans.

Daria

This animated show from the late 90’s was a huge hit and fans just fell in love with the witty character. With all of today's cultural events, bringing back Daria would be a huge hit as she could comment on the world and social norms today.
